Words, systems and people.
I have worked in the language-services industry for more than two decades, beginning as a translator and moving through project management, account management, vendor management, operations, business development and leadership.
That route matters.
It means I understand the words, the workflow behind them and the commercial reality around them.
My academic background combines Computer Science and Business with an MA in Bilingual Translation and Applied Linguistics. In practical terms, I am equally comfortable discussing tone of voice, translation technology, production processes, supplier models or why the source copy is causing most of the trouble.
My work has covered multilingual marketing, creative adaptation, corporate content, websites, training materials, regulated sectors and complex international projects.
I have built and managed language teams, supplier networks, quality processes and technology-enabled workflows for agencies, brands and organisations.
How I work
Listen before prescribing.
The obvious solution is not always the right one. I begin with the purpose, audience and constraints.
Be clear about trade-offs.
Quality, speed, cost, confidentiality and scale all matter. Good decisions come from understanding how they interact.
Use the right-sized solution.
Not every project needs a platform, a committee and a twelve-stage workflow. Some do. Most do not.
Stay responsible.
I remain close to the work, communicate plainly and take ownership of the outcome.
Good Words exists to make multilingual work feel less opaque, less cumbersome and more human.
That is what “looking after meaning” means in practice.
Good Words + Resonance
Good Words is my personal consultancy: direct, flexible and well suited to advisory work, embedded support and individually managed projects.
I am also a co-founder of Resonance Language Consultancy, a wider boutique agency specialising in premium transcreation, localisation and multilingual creative production.
Resonance describes its model as human-led and technology-enabled, with a network of selected in-market specialists.
For larger or multi-market assignments, Good Words can draw on Resonance and a trusted international network.
You still have one clear point of contact. The delivery model simply grows around the project.
